Overview
The Strathclyde Police Procurement Portal is a new service offering suppliers the opportunity to view contract announcements in real time. EU and Non EU public notices are published immediately on the procurement portal, giving suppliers instant access to contract opportunities. At present this is the initial phase involving capturing contracts for goods and services processed through the Corporate Procurement department. It is our intention to roll this out to cover all contracts from other departments. This portal is hosted by BiP Solutions on behalf of Strathclyde Police.
Background
The European Commission recommends in the Consolidated Procurement Directive that authorities provide their purchasing and procurement information via a Buyer Profile and this facility has been incorporated in this procurement portal. The Buyer Profile provides information on purchase plans, contact details and future, current and past contracts. The portal also offers suppliers the opportunity to identify future opportunities, respond to current opportunities and view which suppliers have already been awarded contracts along with the goods and/or services purchased.
